This recipe will save you a bunch of $$$. A small round of Boursin cheese costs $6 in Atlanta. You can make it for about $2 yourself just by mixing the ingredients together. Easy Peasy. The incredible Creamed Spinach is made in the microwave. I'm taking this side dish to my sister's house for Thanksgiving. Budget Boursin
1-8 ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
1 stick butter, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon dried dill
1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients until well-mixed. Refrigerate for up to a week.
Creamed Spinach
2 boxes frozen, chopped spinach (defrosted and squeezed dry)
1 recipe of Budget Boursin cheese
Combine the ingredients in a in a covered, microwave-safe casserole dish. Cook for 4-6 minutes on high or until the Boursin is melted and the spinach is cooked. Stir before serving.
